Weds Aug 20 8:00 PM
Tickets: $8 Advance/$10 at the door
Company Info: The Missoula Oblongata
Late one night, a stranger knocks at the door of the Clementine residence (and laboratory). The company's DIY approach to lighting, sound, and set creation combines refined performances with artfully assembled "found" design schemes which, in the words of The Edmonton Sun, "transform the stage into a place of magic."

The Julie Goldman Offensive
Sep
11 - 14: Thurs - Sat 8 PM, Sun 7 PM
May
21 - 24: Thurs - Sat 7:30 PM
Tickets: $15-20
at Brown Paper Tickets
Artist Information: Julie Goldman
A Theatre Off Jackson and Tongueinchic Production.
Described as a kick ass comic (New York Press) and charmingly deviant (Village Voice), Goldman is outrageous, fearless, righteous, uncensored, and openly lesbian.
She is a cast member of the "Big Gay Sketch Show" and the star of the "Julie Goldman Celesbian Interviews on LOGO. She has also been featured on Comedy Centrals Live at Gotham and performs regularly with The Jap Show: Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad. Julie is a 2007 MAC Award winner (Manhattan Association of Clubs and Colleges), and she most recently received the 2008 NewNowNext: Brink of Fame Comic Award in NYC.
Julie Goldman deals with the art of stand-up like she's got nothing to lose. Goldman is a crackerjack stand-up comic whose romping pop style and perfect timing allow her to wrest the uproarious from the serious and send her audience careening toward sidesplitting bliss. Call it feminist or lesbian humor if you want, but the great thing about Goldman is she transcends all those terms and shows us that we're all in this together. She is very now and an absolute must see -- NY Press

Sgt Rigsby & His Amazing Silhouettes: A Terrible Price for Whimsy
Nov 28 - Dec 20 Thurs - Sat, 8:00 PM**
Jan 1 Thurs, 8:00 PM**
Tickets: $15
More about the Sgt.
**12/20/08 Show Cancelled** Unfortunately, due to the snow and icy conditions we have made the decision to cancel the show tonight and you will receive a full refund of your purchase price. Or, consider joining us for a very special New Year's Day performance at 8PM.
Thanks again for your support and have a safe and wonderful holiday!
REMOUNT! (When the first mount just wasn't enough!)
“A Terrible Price for Whimsy” centers on boy inventor Roscoe Riley. Young Roscoe’s troubles begin when he discovers that time travel and tequila just don’t mix. A drunken ride on a timecycle ends with history in shambles. Now a repentant Roscoe and his trusty dog, Scampers, must put things right. But first, Roscoe must deal with murderous first ladies, philosophical hominids, shady Mexican street dogs, rampaging zebras and his own sexually confusing future.
With a nod to Tom Swift books, Merry Melodies, Tintin, early Monte Python and Icelandic pornography, “A Terrible Price For Whimsy” promises to be one of the most eccentric and enjoyable shows of the holiday season. A roller coaster ride for the imagination.
Strictly for adults, the show is bawdy, intelligent, highly entertaining and more than a little absurd. Subversive without being cynical, sly without being ironic.

Not All Clowns Are Bozos
Jan 15 - 17, 8:00 PM
Company Information: Ear To The Ground
Afraid of clowns? Think they’re just for kids? Well, think again.
Ear to the Ground presents Not All Clowns are Bozos, an evening of brilliant clown theater. Artistic Director Valerie Moseley and Artistic Associate Cecelia Frye have assembled a cadre of Seattle's funniest, sweetest, and stupidest clowns for a night of laughs. Enjoy the true artistry of these physical comedic performers as they bring you into the delightful world of kooky clown logic.
Ear to the ground is thrilled to return to Theatre off Jackson where it produced it's first evening of work in 2005. Since then, ear to the ground's signature comedy duo Chickee & Boom-Boom have been seen in cabaret and burlesque venues all over town including the moisture festival, the pink door, and the Columbia City Cabaret, as well as with the record-setting juggling duo brothers from different mothers, including a sell-out stint at first night Spokane. Ear to the ground is a physical theatre company that is also in pre-production for the zero project, a show in which lengths of rope, old-school folding rulers, hula-hoops, and lemons are used to ask questions about the big bang, Santa Claus, and the impossibility of dividing by zero.

Accompanied by the last boy-virgin in the eleventh grad, Moll crosses chasms and rafts rivers into a world where sound is always more than what meets the ear. A quirky fable of innocence and experience, featuring live sound effects, mutinous onomatopoeia, and a host of woodsy temptations.

A reading of Suddenly Last Summer, by Tennessee Williams
Mon Feb. 16, 7:00 PM
Tickets:
Pay What You Will
Company Information: Our American Theater Company
When a troubled young woman is the sole witness to her cousin's shocking death, she’s brought to her aunt’s “planned jungle” in a New Orleans courtyard to confront a family that is intensely interested in having her lurid tale silenced. In his richest, boldest poetical flourishes, Williams creates, in the words of Walter Kerr, “a concrete and blistering portrait of loneliness…of the sudden snapping of that spider's web that is one man's life, of ultimate panic and futile flight.”
The staged reading is directed by Carys Kresny. With Betty Campbell, Ricky
Coates, Therese Diekhans, George Mount, Marty Mukhalian and Sharia Pierce. A talk back following the performance will be led by Seattle playwright, and ToJ favorite, Scot Augustson.

Keefee's House of Cards
Apr 16 - May 9, 7:30 PM
Tickets: $15 at Brown Paper Tickets
Company Information: Printer's Devil Theater
Oh, Keefee.
Whether modeling a fashionable house arrest bracelet, sporting an alarming Speedo or just wandering (drink in hand) through the night looking for his pal Randy, Keefee has been a fixture of the Tallahassee gay bar culture for longer than anybody cares to remember. He was born in Florida and everybody expected him to die there. Well, life's funny, idn't it? For reasons even he isn't sure of, Keefee now finds himself in Las Vegas dealing blackjack at Shenanigans, a low-rent casino just off off off the Vegas Strip. And tonight he's not just any dealer, he's your dealer.
Using state of the art technology (and a little bit of magic ) the Theatre Off Jackson will be transformed into Shenanigans (referred to in several Vegas tourism guides as the “Gaming House of Broken Dreams”). Take a stroll past Shenanigan’s 23-hour-a-day buffet, where the motto is “If It’s Fried, It’s Fresh!™” One of the hard-working Shenanigals™ may or may not bring you a cocktail (depending on her mood and your attitude) as you watch lucky audience members belly up to the table and play blackjack (*) live with Keefee in this improvised and thoroughly unique theater-going experience. Keefee deals a mean game of blackjack while he rambles, sasses, and shares stories from a love life lived fully -- if not wisely or well. But please, don’t tell the pit boss. (**)
The creation of local theater artist Stephen Hando, Keefee has been delighting and raising the eyebrows of Seattle audiences for years with short snippets of his alcohol-fueled Southern misadventures. It’s high time he got his own feature-length platform. Printer’s Devil Theater is thrilled to be presenting the first full-length show to showcase this decidedly un-PC creation.
*Please note: no real gambling will take place in this show. No money will change hands. No prizes of any kind will be awarded. Heck, we're not even gonna use a professional blackjack table because doing so would be against regulations, and we're law abiding citizens as well as artists.
** If the night gets to be a little too much for you, don’t worry, Shenanigans has a defibrillator. Somewhere. I’m sure Kelly knows where it is, she used it last week to fend off that creepy guy from Omaha. You know who I’m talking about, the novelty salesman?

Susie J. Lee's For These Unclosings
Fri, Sep 11 8:00 PM
Tickets: 15 Advance at Brown Paper Tickets
Show Info: For These Unclosings
For These Unclosings has developed into a complex, real-time composition that seamlessly integrates movement, sound and image. Exploring themes of memory, this work creates an intimate theatrical experience in which three distinct characters--dancer, line, and music--push, pull and react to one another in a nuanced dialogue. Jen Graves of The Stranger calls it, "neurotic, erotic and electric."
Jeremy Barker of Seattlest writes, "Local visual artist phenom Susie J. Lee has taken her studious exploration of the transience of memory out of the art gallery in this collaboration with dancer/choreographer Ying Zhou. Utilizing some impressive technology, Lee has put together a dramatic live performance/art installation/dance piece that builds on her already impressive catalog of achievements.
