7 Sins by James Judd, San Francisco, CA

Tickets $15: 3/6 and 3/7, 8:00 PM

7 SINS is a collection of true, fast, and funny stories from the life of writer/comedian James Judd.  It chronicles his early ambition to win his 5th Grade book report competition with My Search for Patty Hearst, and his first job when his working mother paid him to watch The Young and the Restless and then reenact it for her. He relives his varied careers as a forgotten employee of AT&T, where he did nothing for a year, an even shorter-lived career as a dot.com journalist (which led to an insane night with five Chinese billionaires in a Chinese bordello), and as an under-prepared criminal defense attorney representing violent teenage girls, as well as many more strange and always funny stories.

James Judd is an actor, comedian, and comedy writer from San Francisco, CA. He is the creator of 7 SINS and 7 SINS: The Holiday Edition which ran for seven months in San Francisco. He began writing and directing as a member of the famous Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles where he appeared with fellow cast members Lisa Kudow, Kathy Griffin, Paul Ruebens, Julia Sweeney and many more now-famous faces.

my new friends (are so much better than you) by S.P. Miskowski featuring Morgan Rowe

Tickets $15: 3/12, 3/13, 3/14 8:00 PM

Nancy is an outgoing, witty, worldly person who is popular but who reserves the right to define herself on her own terms. Gwen is a woman who has not quite found herself in her career or in motherhood. Between these former friends stands the memory of a teenage girl whose attempt at making friends online ended in tragedy. But that is not the end of the story.

S.P. Miskowski earned an M.F.A. in Playwriting at the University of Washington and received two NEA Fellowships, for short fiction and playwriting. This is her third time working with her brilliant friend and collaborator Morgan Rowe.

Morgan Rowe is a great fan of facebook.  It keeps her connected to all her friends from College, The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago.  She also stays in touch with actors and teachers that she has worked with in Chicago, Florida, Cleveland, NYC, and Norfolk, Virginia (her hometown, where she started acting with her Mom and Dad at the ripe old age of six).

"my new friends (are so much better than you)" was originally presented as a resident artist production by Open Heart Productions in association with New City Theater.
